Given more options I would not care about PCIe ports at >all. >>- Jimmy Hi Jimmy, Can I ask why you dislike PCIe cards? Is it the cards themselves or the technology? Personally I hate Thunderbolt with a passion which is, I assume, your preferred method of connectivity? The idea of having racks of systems all with crappy 'push fit' connectors going to some shonky external box to give me FC/10Gig/etc connectivity fills me with dread. That leads to super messy racking and tons of cables that might unseat themselves given enough heat cycles. Is there a 'pro' version of the ThunderBolt connector that I haven't seen that has positive connectors? If your business model is one or two systems on a desk then fair play and if you have no use for external connectivity then you'll have a lovely clutter free desk with a system that already resembles an NYC MTA dustbin.. ;-) Marc To unsubscribe from the list send a blank e-mail to mailto:studiosysadmins-discuss-request@studiosysadmins.com?subject=unsubscribe |
