Maya 2014 on Linux --> MRFM
posted by Jeff Yana on Jan. 10, 2014, 3 p.m.
Heads up to those thinking about moving to Maya 2014 on Linux using MRFM. After a good deal of head thrashing yesterday, wasting n+ number of hours troubleshooting and parsing through cryptic render output, it was brought to my attention by Autodesk TAC that MRFM is no longer a default install when installing the Maya 2014 binary (rpm). The official explanation for its removal is easier, faster development times for Maya. The real reason of course is because Mental Ray is headed for extinction as the 3d hordes migrate away from MR over to Vray. jy To unsubscribe from the list send a blank e-mail to mailto:studiosysadmins-discuss-request@studiosysadmins.com?subject=unsubscribe
