Desktop drives in a NAS environment

If you are using desktop drives in a NAS environment, you may be interested in reading this:

It seems that for those guys, even though Seagate drives are failing at a much higher rate than Hitachi, they still prefer Seagate since they buy so many of them and price is a big issue. If you're just putting together a 12 drive array and don't want to be swapping out drives all the time, looks like HGST might be a better bet.
