We tend to go through a lot of different storage platforms in this industry, with technology changing fairly quickly. Right now I am dealing with a number of different storage platforms, and would like to get a better hold of the nitty gritty of designing and implementing large storage servers. I would like a better understanding of designing storage and what their projected performance numbers might be, file system recovery, and tuning would be very helpful as well. And object store, everybody is screaming OBJECT! Right now I deal with NTFS (ReFS soon), ZFS (two flavours), HFS+, VMFS, lot's of RAID cards and lot's of operating systems. Are there general purpose (CompTIA Storage+) training courses out there that would be worth doing? I have seen proprietary certs from VMware, EMC, Oracle, Hitachi...etc. Have you gone through a program that you thought was quite valuable? Or one that you thought wasn't as useful in the real world? Please share your experiences. Thanks. |
