Has any one played around with Storage Spaces in Server 2012? Reading how they have abstracted RAID to the OS Level, and you have the capability to have tiered storage with SSD's for hot data. You end up creating a virtual disk, and that is what you end up mounting to share out to the network. Anyone have any realworld usage with M&E workflows? Only downside is the SAS enclosures you want are limited to about 4 trays, but you can have HA setups wich is nice. |
