"We expect our OEM partners to begin shipping Alta PCoIP Zero Clients alongside their existing Tera2-based Zero Clients early next year, both in traditional Zero Client form factors and as wireless-enabled laptops."

From what I heard it should be compatible connecting to a tera2 hostcard but there is no new UHD4k Hostcards.
It will be using the PCoiP Access Software to do that. When I spoke to them at Siggraph they were currently working on making it multi-threaded. Right now it uses a single core to do the encoding. I think it has a max frame rate of 30ftps which is why they were working on making it multithreaded to get it up to 60+ which is a requirement for us.

If it works.. it will be nice not needing a hostcard. Which will allow for new form-factors. :)
You will not get BIOS access etc.. since its software based it will be more akin to RDP access. when the system is fully up on the OS Level.

"Teradici's new new range of Alta zero clients with Socionext's silicon inside are gruntier than their predecessors. The new boxen can drive a pair of 4K monitors, include WiFi, USB 3.0 and the choice of DisplayPort or HDMI."

Perhaps worryingly I'm not seeing a corresponding "Alta" host card:

Hopefully that will show up soon? Also haven't found any info on any compatibility between Tera2 and Alta devices.
