Useful script for WSUS maintenance / cleanup
posted by Jean-Francois Panisset on Sept. 25, 2017, 2:20 a.m.
If you run Windows Software Update Services, you probably know that over time these servers get cranky and gouty, and if you run multiple servers, the sync between downstream and upstream servers can be a bit random. I recently ran across this PowerShell script: https://community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/2998-adamj-clean-wsus and it seems to do a good job. It cleaned up way more disk space taken up by obsolete / superseded / declined updates than the built-in WSUS wizard, and it mostly fixed weird sync issues between downstream and upstream WSUS servers (for instance clients showing as fully patched on downstream servers, but 0% / never reported on upstream servers). JF To unsubscribe from the list send a blank e-mail to mailto:studiosysadmins-discuss-request@studiosysadmins.com?subject=unsubscribe
