With an?impressive client list and a track record of success spanning more than thirty-five years,? we are currently seeking a CGI Studio Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Essex-based team.?

Our CGI Studio Systems Administrator will administer desktop and server environment of our growing CGI Studio, ensuring uptime of Windows and Linux File/Web Servers/Workstations ? as well as?other custom or third party applications to ensure availability to a customer base. In addition, they will be managing the infrastructure growth, maintenance and uptime, as well as respond to?department's individual CGI technology needs by providing a polished and proactive customer service based approach to requirements of staff, clients and third party suppliers, sometimes outside of?core office hours.?

The following core competencies are essential for this role:?

Expert with:

? VMware technologies, ESX / ESXi, Virtualisation platform architecture

? VMware vSphere / vMotion

? Windows 2003 / 2008 / 2008 R2 / 7 operating systems

? Linux operating systems

? Mac OSX operating system

? Microsoft System Center ? SCOM / SCCM

? Advanced knowledge of DNS / WINS / Active Directory / TCP-IP / LDAP / HTTP / HTTPS / FTP / SSH / RDP and other common protocols

? Advanced knowledge of and experience with networking concepts and network implementations, including routing, VLANs, firewalls, traffic inspection

? Shell based scripting; cmd line, Powershell, Python, vbScript

? Advanced knowledge of hardware / software RAID, ext3/4, NFS, CIFS/SMB, AFP

? Advanced knowledge of network troubleshooting techniques using wireshark, traceroute, etc

? Advanced knowledge of? domain login scripts, startup and login process for Windows, OSX systems

? Advanced knowledge of security concepts ranging from file permissions to best practices and backdoor prevention

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of creating standard documentation including technical architecture and processes.

? Solid understanding of packet flow, tcp and udp transmissions.

Experience with:

? At least 4 years commercial experience in a similar IT environment

? Commercial experience installing and supporting Microsoft Infrastructure technologies (e.g. SharePoint, Windows, SQL), including a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory

? LDAP experience

? Troubleshooting network environments

? Security setup

? Ability to lead in advanced troubleshooting without guidance for hardware, software and networking issues

Qualification:

? Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree or diploma in Computing Science, or related discipline.

? Linux based certification, RHCE or higher

? Microsoft Certification in Windows? 7

? Microsoft Certification in SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server 2003 & 2008 and Security

? CCNA or higher

?

The hours for the role are 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on a Friday, forming 37 hours per week (in addition the Company operates a flexible start time policy). This role may require overtime, sometimes at short notice to meet deadlines.?
